careFIJI is a mobile application developed as part of the digitalFIJI initiative by the Fijian Government. Its main purpose is to assist the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in enhancing and expediting manual contact tracing efforts. By participating in this voluntary initiative, individuals in Fiji can play a pivotal role in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and potentially saving lives, leveraging the capabilities of technology, all while ensuring utmost privacy and security.

careFIJI utilizes Bluetooth technology to identify proximity to other careFIJI users. Importantly, this data regarding close contacts is rendered completely anonymous, encrypted, and stored solely on users' mobile devices.

To activate the careFIJI app, all that's needed is a mobile number. In the event that contact tracing becomes necessary, Ministry of Health and Medical Services officials may reach out to individuals using the same mobile number provided during activation.
